Prof. Yuri Raifeld has over 30 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare. Prior to founding Raifarm in early 2007, he served for seven years as a President and COO for ClinStar, a leading CRO in Russia, which he co-founded and grew to about two hundred employees in Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. ClinStar has been widely considered the most professional CRO in Russia and has constantly received praise for the exceptional quality of its services, successfully passing many audits.

Before that, Prof. Raifeld worked at Wyeth-Ayerst Research in the United States for seven years. He oversaw a team of thirty researchers, which successfully developed and patented a new type of RSV-inhibitors.

Prior to that Prof. Raifeld served as a consultant to American Cyanamid for three years. Concurrently, he founded Lecophar, a successful specialized pharmaceutical distributor in Russia.

Before starting a career in business, Prof. Raifeld founded and headed a laboratory for total syntheses of biologically active compounds in the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology (MIFCT). Prof. Raifeld developed a unique scheme for a total regio-, stereo-, enantioselective syntheses of thousands of carbohydrates and nucleosides, in particular synthesis of HIV-inhibitors, such as AZT and its analogues. Prof. Raifeld also has published extensively in Russian and international journals, with over 120 articles and reviews and twenty patents to his name.

Prof. Raifeld received his M.Sc., Ph.D., and Dr.Sci. at MIFCT.
